Tomato "Black Iceberg".
Large, delicious, and aromatic. Bears fruit until autumn.
A mid-early salad variety with large, beautifully colored tomatoes. The first harvest is ready 95-110 days after germination. It fruits abundantly for a long time, right up to the first autumn frosts.
The plants are indeterminate, 1.5-1.8 m tall, with shortened internodes. The first inflorescence forms surprisingly early above the 5th leaf, with subsequent ones every 2-3 leaves. The fruits are large, weighing 150-300 g, with thin skin and medium firmness.
These tomatoes are exceptionally tasty, boasting a high sugar content and a pronounced fruity-spicy aroma. Greenhouse yield is about 10 kg/m2.
Prick out the seedlings when they have 1-2 true leaves. Plants should be tied to a support and shaped into 1-2 stems. Regular removal of side shoots (suckering) is absolutely essential.

This wonderful heirloom variety produces an abundant crop of slightly ribbed beefsteak-type fruits. Their very dark, reddish-brown flesh offers a superb fruity and spicy flavor.
Maturity: Mid-season (mid-early).
Shape: Oblate (flattened and slightly ribbed).
Texture: Meaty.
Color: Black (dark mahogany / brownish-red).
Foliage: Regular.
History: It is believed that this wonderful old variety originated in Russia. It was first introduced to the gardening world in the 1998 Seed Savers Yearbook by Åke Truedsson of Klagshamn, Sweden, who confirmed its Russian roots.
